Gucci turns 85 this year! And despite its age, the fashion house still retains its trademark sexy and youthful looks. Designer Frida Giannini celebrated the brand's birthday at Milan's Fashion Week with a collection of vibrant colors and patterns.

Giannini drew on Gucci's past, using 1960s A-line silhouettes and short styles. Generous sleeves embellished the look.

The palette was based on black, with punches of red, purple, and disco silver.

Wide belts above the waist, and bag handles inspired by a vintage steering wheel, were the newest inventions by the 35 year-old designer. Giannini began her career with Gucci in the accessory department, and last year became creative designer for the Florentine fashion house.

Her nighttime glamour appeared as flounced babydoll dresses in demure chiffon, or as slinky, black gowns with striking metal straps.

It's not surprising that after an aggressive warrior collection for winter, Prada would opt for a calmer take on summer fashion.

The uniform-like collection concentrated on the upper body with towering heels and little in-between.

Prada's show centered around the tunic, cinched at the waist with a brown leather belt.

Bright colors energized the simple collection, along with geometric patterns and fringe on leather dresses. Prada's latest backpack looked big enough for serious mountain hikes.

As Milan Fashion Week drew to a close, luxury label Trends Les Copains showed a South American-inspired collection for Spring and Summer 2007.

British designer Antonio Berardi sent models down the runway in flowing short and knee-length dresses with a distinctive 70's flower-power feel.

Some bohemian-style skirts and dresses flaunted high waistlines and fringe, while others were covered in psychedelic patterns.

Shades of white and grey were accented by richer colors throughout.
