The third Ethnic Arts Festival brought 20 nights of diverse and dynamic performances to the capital. The stage revelry reached a grand finale with an awards ceremony to honor the artists.

CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin was one of several state officials, attending the closing ceremony. They gave out 18 group and individual awards, in admiration of shows like Tibet's "Colorful Hada".

The audience was treated to one more round of song-and-dance, by the award-winning troupes.

This year's festival was the biggest of all, with every ethnic group in the country represented. Audiences were transported, through music, to the vast Inner Mongolian grasslands, the stunning mountains of Qinghai, and the picturesque river valleys of Guizhou, to name just a few.

Just before the curtain closed, Jia Qinglin and other officials walked on to the stage and personally extended their congratulations.
