Top singers from across the continent have come together in South Korea. Groups from nine countries have gathered for The Asia Song Festival.
Following events in Seoul and Busan, stage three is held in the city of Gwangju. The visiting singers come from South Korea's neighbors: Arashi and Koda Kumi from Japan, Sun Nan from the Chinese mainland, Kelly Chen from Hong Kong, TANK from Taiwan, Ho Quynn Huong from Vietnam, Tanya Chua from Singapore, Katreeya English from Thailand, and Kitchie Nadal from Philippines. T-V-X-Q and Buzz represent the home country.
And South Korean trio "See Ya" was named Rookie of the year.
Participants from overseas were welcomed with the Korean words for "Hello", or "Thank you."
South Korea's Foundation for Cultural Exchange emphasizes mutual understanding, across borders. And this event is a milestone. It helps to build a sense of common identity, among all Asians.
The Asia Song Festival has been held each year since 2004. It's sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
