In UK, hordes of teenage fans have gathered for the premiere party of "High School Musical". The TV movie has already made a big splash, in The United States.

"High School Musical”is the latest feel-good, made-for-tv film, from the Disney Channel. It tells the story of two students who are worlds apart. Troy is the captain of the basketball team, while Gabriella is a shy math whiz.

The pair meet at a New Year's Eve party, where they're both chosen for the karaoke contest. They exchange phone numbers, and Gabriella discovers that Troy goes to her new school.

So together, they try out for the school musical. The competition is heavy. But despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella persist.

Actress Vanessa Anne Hudgens said:"The movie is basically, it's a musical and it's set in high school and it's all about the drama and the clique problems that everyone goes through in high school."

“High School Musical” is the channel's most successful movie to date, with 7.7 million viewers of its premiere broadcast. It will be aired, across Britain, on Friday, September 15th.
