A Chinese photographer has been named a "Climate Hero" by the UN Environment Program. This is the first time the honor has been given to someone from a developing country.

42-year-old Luo Hong is a Chinese businessman and photographer. He has traveled from the Arctic to the Antarctic, and across Africa to photograph wildlife to raise awareness for environmental protection. Luo was named a "Climate Hero" for his contribution to environmental projects in Africa and China. Four other people from the US and Europe shared the honor. "Climate Hero" is the highest honor conferred by the United Nations for contributions in environmental protection and tackling climate change.
