Rainstorms trigger landslides in Sichuan Province

Continous rainstorms over the weekend have caused landslides in Sichuan Province in Southwest China. Waterways are blocked, and power and water cut off in some areas.

Continous rainstorms over the weekend have caused landslides in  Sichuan Province in Southwest China.

The landslide in Xuanhan county cut off the river to form a barrier lake. 15 thousand people have been affected. Some 200 officers and soldiers were dispatched immediately following the landslide. Nearly 200 people have been evacuated to safety. The situation is being monitored around the clock.
