Chile will build a 2,500 square meter pavilion for the World Expo 2010 instead of renting one as previously planned. Chile was the first country in South America to sign up for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. It's also the first South America nation to build its own pavilion.

Chile considers the project to be a long-term investment, and construction will be completed by the end of the year. The pavilion's name is "The seed of the new city", and its main theme will be "exchanges among people around the world".
