Geithner's visit is the fourth of recent high-level US delegations to China. The frequent senior-level meetings are drawing ties closer than ever before.

On May 24th, US House of Representatives Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, arrived in China. Her visit kicked off the densest week for Sino-US exchanges so far during the Obama administration.

Pelosi was followed by other three delegations. The special envoy on the Sudan issue, the US-China Working Group in the House of Representatives, and now, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's delegation.

Analysts attribute the frequent to the Obama administration's need for China's supports in more and more issues. The new administration is trying to set the tone for its new China policies.

Treasury Secretary Geithner's visit is definitely the most high profile one. This is his first official visit to China after taking office.

Geithner is well known for his attacks on China's foreign exchange policies. But he's since made sharp turns saying China's forex policies have made remarkable changes over the past two years.

Analysts say the main purpose for Geithner's visit is likely to build relations and becoming known to Chinese officials.
