Lujiazui Forum held in Shanghai

Hundreds of finance professionals have gathered in Shanghai for the second annual Lujiazui Forum. As the city is set to emerge into an international financial center as well as a shipping center, this year's forum is under greater attention compared with the previous year.

Hundreds of finance professionals have gathered in Shanghai  for the second annual Lujiazui Forum.

The Shanghai municipal government says more than one hundred global financial leaders will address this year's forum, which focuses on economic growth during globalization. Discussions will focus on how to cope with the economic downturn, reform the global financial system and turn Shanghai into an international financial center.

The event is named after the Pudong Lujiazui area, which has grown into a regional financial center since 2000, and is now home to nearly 500 financial institutions. The first Lujiazui Forum was held last May.
