The week-long holiday in Guangdong has been  welcomed by many.

Professor Wang Yanyong, Beijing Communications University, says, "I think this is a good plan. It adjusts only one weekend compared with two weekends in previous Golden Holidays. What's more important is that the plan includes two-day paid leave, which suits the national holiday reform. Local governments could carry out flexible holiday plans based on their own conditions."
