The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced on Monday that it's working to stabilize the employment situation. The governments of more labor-dependent provinces like Jiangxi, Anhui and Hubei are jumping in to expand the job opportunities available to returned migrant workers.

At a large shoe manufacturer in Jiangxi province, dozens of returned migrant workers are filling in application forms. They have returned from Dongguan in Guangdong province.
Wu Yuming, Vice Director of Ganzhou Labor Employment Bureau of Jiangxi Province said "By filling out this form, returned migrant workers can get a lot of recruiting information from local enterprises, and find jobs through it."
Ganzhou city in Jiangxi province has sent out several teams to local companies to find what job opportunities are available. They release the information to the public via newspapers and the internet, giving migrant workers easier access to suitable jobs.
In Anhui province, Jiang Hongbo is an apprentice at the career training center. Affected by the crisis, the clothing factory he used to work is shut down. He returned from Shanghai one month ago.
Jiang Hongbo, returned migrant worker said "No matter where I am, I can find a job, because I have learned how to weld."
The training center has 30 types of courses, teaching computer skills and driving, among other things. Returned workers can get free training.
The Chongqing municipal government has also released a series of preferential policies to help returned workers.
Peng Deming, returned migrant worker said "Repairing my goat farm and buying new goats will cost me 32 thousand yuan. The government subsidized us about 10,000 yuan. I actually spent less than 20 thousand yuan. I feel much better now, and I think the future looks good."
Bishan county recently announced a new rule allowing returned migrant workers to apply for business loans from the local government. They can borrow up to 100,000 yuan each.
In addition, the local government in Hubei province has hosted several large job fairs, making 100,000 jobs available to the 300 thousand returned migrant workers. Hunan province has worked out a rural employment plan for 2009, with a new employment target of 800,000 people. And Guizhou province has expedited tax services and reduced certain fees for migrant workers.
