Toyota Motor plans to begin building and selling a hybrid version its Camry sedan in China in 2010.

The world biggest car maker plans to manufacture 10,000 environmentally friendly cars per years in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong as part of its joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group.

The move is to meet growing demand as consumers look to save cash at the record-high oil prices.

There is also reports that the Chinese government considers giving preferential tax treatment to eco-friendly cars.
