Summer is bringing more than housing sales. It's also peak travel season for students and families who take advantage of the break in the school year. And travel agents have been taking advantage of the upcoming travel boom, with new tours on offer.

This travel agency is selling several 2- or 3-day tours to destinations like Beijing, Hebei and Shandong Province. These cheaper tours have been specially designed for high school graduates.

Another trip, a 5-day tour to Hainan, costs about 2 thousand yuan, ten percent cheaper than last year.

Yang Xiaomei, Assistant to the GM, China Youth Travel Service, said, "We have a tour to Yunnan that costs 2,650 yuan. The price is 15 percent lower than last year. And all are small, group tours."

Another travel agency is selling a new, 9-day tour to British colleges that will give students a chance to visit ten famous universities in the UK.

The company is also offering new domestic tours.

Zhang Qiangzhu, Manager of Marketing Dept., China Comfort Travel, said, "Our tours to eastern China cost about 17-hundred yuan. And the tours can leave as soon as six students apply."

With the lower fares, students are looking forward to a lot more sun- and fun-filled vacations with their families.
