China is about to launch its very own commercial super-jumbo company. The firm will be officially inaugurated this Sunday.

China is about to launch its very own commercial  super-jumbo company.(CCTV.com)

It's a joint collaboration between the country's various aviation agencies including the Chinese Commission of Science Technology and Industry of National Defense, the AVIC I as well as the Shanghai Aviation Bureau. It will employ roughly 2,000 people, including 700 from Shanghai branch of the First Aircraft Institute. The firm is also expected to set up an internal operating mechanism and R&D center in the near future.

Analysts say with this latest move, China is one step closer to its goal of building larger jets to cater to its booming domestic travel demands.
