A pilot who quit his job in China Eastern Airlines was sued by the company for breach of their contract. His former employer is asking for 6.6 million yuan in compensation. The second arbitration ruled that the pilot should pay 1.33 million yuan in compensation and repay 70,000 yuan in salary for 2007.

As a veteran pilot, Zhen Zhihong started serving at Eastern Airline's Yunan subsidiary 12 years ago. He applied to quit his job first in May 2007, however, this was turned down by the company. And in July, he applied to a local labor arbitration commission to deal with the case, and the airline company demanded as much as 12.57 million yuan in compensation.

After the labor arbitration commission decided that Zhen refund 680,000 yuan in training fees, both sides were not satisfied and took their case to the local court. And the airline lowered the compensation figure to 6.6 million yuan.
