China is all set to launch another nationwide campaign to crack down on the unlicensed production and sale of food. This is due to start on Tuesday, the first day of the new year.

The campaign will target 28 categories, including rice, cooking oil, meat and dairy products. All outlets selling these items must have relevant quality and inspection certificates, or they could be subject to severe punishment.
The last four months have seen the closure of 192,400 shops because of failure to produce licenses, and the recall of 1,254 tons of substandard food.
