After nine-months preparation, China's fifth-largest lender, China Postal Savings Bank is finally officially launched today (Tuesday).
Sources say the registered-capital of the new bank is 20 billion yuan. China Post's board chairman takes the new bank's board chairman. Sources also say the new bank will conduct trial outlets in the first half of the year in East, West and Central China. China Postal Savings Bank obtained approvals from authorities in mid-2006 to start business.
And it's expected to complete all preparation work within half a year. But the bank delayed its official opening at the end of last year due to some personnel and registered capital problems.
