The Hong Kong authorities have found more metal-laced elements in cosmetics produced by Clinique, Lancome, Christian Dior and Estee Lauder.

The Hong Kong Standards and Testing Center discovered that Christian Dior's whitening power contained 4.5 milligrams per kilogram of Neodymium. While some of Estee Luader's products contained 3.9 mpk of Neodymium. A few of Clinique's whiting products produced in the US contain 1.8 mpk of Chromium, and some Estee Lauder skin-lightening goods produced in Japan are found to have 1.6 mpk Chromium. The center's report also shows that those figures are far higher then those banned substances found in the imported SK-II products. Industry experts have expressed confusion and concerns about the overall safety of cosmetics.
