From Jan. 9 to Jan. 10 we’ll bring you two special editions of Around China focusing on the city of Shanghai.

We’ll travel to the Bund and investigate how a major renovation project is expected to improve transport conditions. We’ll look back on Shanghai’s proud history as a centre of the shipbuilding industry.

We’ll examine a brand new city landmark, designed to reflect Shanghai’s origins as a fishing port. And we’ll also hear how an 18-year-old high-school student came up with an idea for easing a problem that has been plaguing Shanghai’s urban residents – noise pollution.
