Dave is an English specialist at the English News department of CCTV9, he has been a news reporter for some 25 years in U.S.A.
Dave: I'm very proud to be part of the opening -up of the telling of the news to the world from China because now we are telling the good are the bad and it's not just what the government says like used to be many years ago. Now Chinese news is real news about the world and about China, Chinese news broadcast now are opening a window for the rest of the world to look into China and see what China is really like.
In his childhood, Dave he had dreamed of coming to China. In 1999, he finally came to China and decided to stay here with his wife, Susan. Susan is also an English specialist with CCTV9, much of their time is devoted to proof reading and dubbing of news stories.
Susan : I like working with Dave very much, we make an excellent team because spent together so long, we can proactively read each other minds. So we were very harmony, also we were boring in same year the year of the ox, as you known, it is very good animal and very strong working by itself, but marched with another ox like me .it is stronger team when it marched.
He has found himself fascinated by so much of China and wherever one looks in his house, one can see the Chinese dragon.
Dave: I once heard the story about a man, who really like the dragon so lot and you can I have a little dragon here, and the story was mentioned, he filled the home dragons, he hod dragons on the wall. He had dragons in the window. He had dragons from the movie. This is Muxu from the movie Hua Mulan, and many the dragons around this house, and one day a real dragon came to his house and when a hello are you a good dragon? Ok ,he said he is a good dragon ,the good dragon came to his house but the man was very frighten and ran away ,if the dragon ever came to my house I would be not frighten and never ran away like the mentioned story.
Not only does he have a deep admiration for Chinese culture, but a deep understanding of it too.1949, the same year, the People's Republic of China was founded so he says he sharer a particular closeness to it. Dave hopes his work will help the Chinese people too.
Dave: My job at CCTV is important one because as a teacher, I can only teach a small portion just few students, but at CCTV I can reach all of China and perhaps my voice can be a learning tool or a teaching aid to the Chinese people. My feeling about China is very strong, the decision was made when we came to China, we came to stay, we have made China our home now. We not like to be returning Unite States, because now, we have decided to make our home in China, my Chinese friend told me, I can say,"Woaini Zhongguo".

大卫是中央电视台第9套节目《英语新闻》的英语专家，曾在美国作过25年的记者。
大卫：我非常骄傲，能够成为中国新闻开放性传播中的一份子，因为，我们从全方位、多角度报道新闻，我们既从正面报道，同时也有曝光新闻，而不像过去那些年完全依据政府的口径来报道。现在，中国的新闻所报道的是中国和世界正在发生的真实事件，中国的新闻为外国人了解中国打开了一扇窗口。
大卫从小就憧憬能到中国来，1999年，他亲自踏上了中国的土地，并决定和妻子苏珊留在中国。苏珊也是中央电视台第9套节目的英语专家，他们的工作主要是校稿和配音。
我喜欢和大卫一起工作，我们一起生活了很多年，我们是非常棒的组合，彼此了解对方的想法，我们很和睦。我们同在牛年出生，牛是和善的动物，任劳任怨。和我这样的一头牛一起工作，我们是强有力的组合。
工作之外，大卫的生活丰富多彩。中国的很多事物吸引他，大卫的家里到处可以看到中国龙。
大卫：从前，我听说有一个人，他非常喜欢龙。你瞧，我也有一条小龙。故事中说他的家里到处是龙，在墙上、在窗上，还有电影《花木兰》中的木须龙，在他的家里到处是龙。有一天，一条真龙来到他的家里，（喂，你是一条好龙吗？他说，他是一条好龙。）这条好龙来到他的家里，但是这个人非常害怕，仓皇逃跑。如果，龙到我家里来，我不会害怕，更不会像那个人一样逃跑。
大卫对中国文化不仅仅是一种喜爱，更是一种深刻的理解。大卫出生在1949年，与中华人民共和国成立是同一年，因此，他说自己与中国有很深的缘分。大卫希望他在中国的工作能有益于中国人。
我在中央电视台工作的重要性之一，就是作为一个老师，我只能教很少一部分学生，但是在中央电视台我却可以触及中国的每一个角落。也许我的声音可以成为中国人学习英语的工具或辅助教材。 我对中国的感情很深厚，我一到中国就做出了决定，我要留下来。现在，我们已经把中国当成了自己的家了，我们不回美国了，已经决定把家安在中国，我的中国朋友教我讲（中文），我会说：“中国，我爱你”。
