Katerina Dionysopoulou, Chief Designer of UK pavilion tells us that The centerpiece of the UK pavilion is a six-story high box formed from 60,000 slender transparent acrylic rods which extend from the structure and quiver in the breeze. Each rod will hold a different seed.
Dario Rota, Pavilion Director, said, We will have some icons of the Italian lifestyle, like a Ferrari car and a Ducati motorbike; also some clothes from D&G and Prada; the staff working in the pavilion will wear uniforms designed by Prada.
Tan Kay Ngee, Singapore Pavilion Designer, said, "I think, lots of people don´t know that we have lots of musicians, singers and playwrights, and all that. The musical box is very important because it´s like something that you have to kind of interact with it. So you have to open it and you´ll find surprises with that."
John Kormeling, Architect of Dutch Pavilion in Shanghai Expo saysThe Dutch pavilion is called "Happy Street". It´s an entire street in the shape of the number eight - an auspicious number in Chinese culture.
The Shanghai World Expo will start initial trial operations in April next year. Consuls General from more than 60 countries gathered to make the announcement.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton toured the US pavilion inside the Expo park. During her speech, Clinton brought some good news for the pavilion´s sponsorship.
Russia will decorate its pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo like a fairy-tale panorama. On Tuesday, Russia unveiled its design with the theme "New Russia: City and Citizen." Most of the pavilions have now published their layouts and started construction.
