Exhibition in Nepal shows past and present of Tibet

  KATHMANDU, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- As there is popular common saying, "a picture can speak more than thousand words at once", it is not hard to sense the development of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China from ancient period to present after viewing the 217 photographs exhibited here.

  Visitors of an exhibition titled "Tibet of China: Past and Preset" expressed their experience after viewing the exhibited photos in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Wednesday.

  "An exhibition of lively pictures has unveiled the bitter truth of past as well as glimpse of prosperous present of Tibet," Nepali Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel articulated his experience after viewing an array of pictures.

  Saying that relations between Nepal and China, culturally and socially roots back to ancient period, Pokharel added that phases of development and modernization of Tibet could be the strategy of development in Nepal.

  The minister together with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong observed the pictures after inaugurating the exhibition on Wednesday.

  The five-day exhibition shows the process of Tibet from darkness to brightness, from poverty to prosperity, from autocratic rule to democracy, and from self-seclusion to opening up.
