There are several good provisions in the new bill, such as those championed by Senator Sanders of Vermont. However, 1) The new bill has further cemented the unequality against women. Now women need to pay an extra primium to cover their "abortion" cost. The bill has now made the previously annually renewable Hyde´s amendment into law. 2) It justifies the existence of for profit insurance companies. In fact, now every body has to be a member of an insurance company. In conclusion, the reform is perhaps still better than no reform. But, is it really so? Let us see its realization in the next 10-20 years.
