Most parts of the Greater Mekong River Sub-region are covered by tropical rainforest, and it is this mass of luxuriant green that determines the lifestyle of the local people.

Many ethnic nationalities, out of an awesome respect for nature, follow age-old laws that protect the rainforest that is their homeland. However, with local populations growing and material needs increasing at the same rapid pace, pushing local resources have been pushed almost to the limits.

This programme will present the unique local ways of life, cultures, methods of environmental protection and knowledge of the rainforest, in so doing disclosing a mutually dependent relationship between man and nature. (But we will also be admonished film admonishes us: Excessive demand on primitive ecology harms everything, including man.)
