The Beijing Olympic Games are quickly approaching. What are some of the former Olympic champions doing now? Up-Close interviews Ma Yanhong, the first Chinese Olympic gymnastics champion.

When she tied for first place on the uneven bars at the 1979 World Championships, Ma Yanhong put her Chinese team on the global map. Ma capped her career at the '84 Olympics in Los Angeles, where she tied with Julianne McNamara of the U.S. for gold on the uneven bars.

In the Up-Close studio, Ma Yanhong shares with us the behind-scenes-stories of the Olympic Games that she experienced, her new life after retiring as an athlete, and what she will be doing during this year’s Beijing Olympic Games.
