On March 20, Xu Quanlong, from Jiangxi province, pushed his self-made "wooden ox" to the "Bird's Nest" stadium in order to attract people's attention to his message of staying away from gambling and cherishing their lives.

Xu, 41, is from Jinxian county, Nanchang city, Jiangxi province. He said that he fell into the bad habit of gambling at age 15, which led him to live from hand to mouth for many years, not to mention the large number of gambling debts that he accumulated. He left Shaanxi province by truck some 6 months ago, and just arrived in Beijing a few days ago.

He said that the "wooden ox" was invented by Zhuge Liang (an ancient Chinese man of great wisdom and resourcefulness) as a means of transportation. Because Xu had learned carpentry in his childhood and studied the related documents carefully, it took him just over 2 weeks to successfully make the "wooden ox" himself.

His "wooden ox" closely resembles 2 wooden handcarts. There is a driving device at the bottom of the “ox,” and he could easily push the "ox" forward even with 2 adults aboard. Besides, the "ox" has a wooden head with the "ox tongue" used as a braking device. And the "flowing horse" looks just like the "wooden ox," except that it is smaller in size. Xu told reporters that he wanted to tell people to stay away from gambling. And He made the "wooden ox" so that they could learn a lesson from him while still having fun.
