Xia Zhenzhen: it's her third time to the Indian Ocean

Xia Zhenzhen is a petty officer first class and fleet squad nurse affiliated with the East China Sea Fleet. Just like many other female Chinese soldiers, her military life was supposed to be uneventful. In hospital, she spent her life doing routine daily work, such as giving injections, completing other nursing tasks and rendering medical treatment. However she believed that there was more in life for her: she believed that she was destined for a specific post and she was being summoned from afar to inject a twist into her life and make it wonderful.

Finally, in 2006 as her 20th birthday was approaching, she was lucky enough to be chosen into a new battleship convoy and headed for the Indian Ocean to receive long-distance sailing training. At that time she was still a volunteer in charge of medical security on the ship. Following that, at the end of 2006, she again went with the convoy to the Indian Ocean. The two Indian Ocean adventures, each lasting a month, turned her dream into reality. From then on, she was tightly bounded to "Qiandao Lake," a long distance supply ship.

Knowing that the fleet was going to take part in the escort mission, Xia Zhenzhen, who had already been promoted to petty officer, asked her superior for an assignment with the fleet, saying that she had been to Indian Ocean twice before and having this prior experience, she was the right person for the task. This time, the trip was for five months, which was a difficult decision for a female soldier. The leaders soon agreed to allow her to go and she became the first female Chinese soldier to go to the Indian Ocean three times.
