Young girl opens "Feng shui" store in downtown Nanjing

2010-01-12 15:03 BJT

On January 7, the reporter visited Zhujiang Road in Nanjing to find the "Taiwan Hu Yiming Zhouyi and Fate Store," which just opened on this busy business road. The store was discussed a lot by Nanjing residents in recent days.

Nanjing's Zhujiang Road is regarded as a high-tech business street that is on a par with Zhongguancun in Beijing. Many PCs that are sold on the road are made in Taiwan, so it is a little strange that a Zhouyi and fate store appeared here suddenly.

The storekeeper is a beautiful post-80s girl, and she studied accounting in university. Many Feng shui masters are regarded as superstitions or as a business to swindle people out of money in Chinese mainland. As a result, people engaged in Feng shui always travel around to do business, and no one had ever opened a store flagrantly, let alone opening a store on a busy street.

In the face of the reporter's doubts, the shopkeeper Xing Jingjing presented a business license in which "Yimingtang Environment Information Consultation Company" stands out. Xing explained that the store mainly offers the "consultation service about environment information," which is Feng shui as people know. The store was named such because her teacher is Hu Yiming, a famous Feng shui master in Taiwan, and Hu gave Xing a lot of support in opening the store.

Xing said that because she was very interested in Zhouyi, she listened to the lectures of Hu, and then learned Zhouyi from Hu. Feng shui has existed in China for thousands of years, and it is not the superstition as people say.

However, Xing's opening of a Feng shui store is faced with various doubts. The industry and commercial administration bureau came to inspect her store after it received a complaint from the public that somebody is brewing superstitious activities, and some residents looked on out of curiosity. People who are also engaged in Feng shui called to criticize her. "People that provide Feng shui service do not have a store, but get business through telephone or friends. However, I, a girl who is wet behind the ear, opened such a big store. Consequently, people in the same profession thought I broke the rules."

Xing said, "At present, many universities offer Feng shui courses. Feng shui is very popular in Taiwan, and will definitely be recognized in Chinese mainland. No. 01 stands before the name of my store, which means the first one in Nanjing. If I get rich experience in this sector, I do not exclude the possibility of opening a second or a third Feng shui store."
