Deaf wedding: words speak louder than sound

Putting a ring on the bride's third finger, the bridegroom held up a heart-shaped red board with "Yang Yuan, I will love you forever!" written on it. This was his silent promise to his wife. Both of them are deaf.

A silent world cannot stop the flow of love.

The wedding ceremony took place on the afternoon of November 15 in a restaurant on the South Second Ring Road in Xi'an. The guests cheered during the beautiful wedding march and the passionate introduction made by the master of the ceremony. However for the bridegroom Liu Yue, who was standing on the stage, the ceremony seemed very "quiet". He focused his attention on the archway in the distance, waiting for his bride to appear.

The bride and bridegroom walked onto the wedding stage accompanied by beautiful music and red petals, as well as a bold banner proclaiming "a silent world cannot stop the flow of love", which gave the young deaf-mute couple the chance to "speak" their true feelings.

As he cannot express his love with words, the bridegroom wrote down his true feelings on a sign, which said "Yang Yuan, I will cherish you forever". The bridegroom also demonstrated his love with a loving hug.

Although the bride Yang Yuan called out "Dad, Mom" with indistinct pronunciation and the bridegroom Liu Yue tried his best to speak but could not make a sound, the scene moved everybody present; even the restaurant staff standing by could not help shedding tears.
