Forest parks will be built in five places, including Jingtai Bridge, Guanganmenwai and Fushi Road. On October 19, reporters learned that the feasibility report of the first five leisure forest parks has been approved, which means that residents in Beijing will be able to wander in forests without having to leave the urban areas of Beijing in 2010. Upon completion, not only will the Beijing's ecological effects be improved, but more places will be available for residents to spend their leisure time.

According to sources, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Forestry will take charge of the construction of these five leisure forest parks. These forest parks, which will start construction by the end of 2009, are expected to be completed and open to residents free of charge in 2010. Apart from a high coverage rate of greenery, these forest parks will also be equipped with various facilities for entertainment. Building forests in Beijing will also improve the quality of the trees in the urban areas of Beijing, creating an "oxygen bar."
