On September 15, a reporter heard from residents that the old man was collecting floating garbage in Beihuang River. The reporter immediately rushed to the bank and took pictures of him. In one of these photographs, the old man, stripped to the waist and wore a straw hat because of the hot sun, was poling a boat with one hand and skillfully wielding fishing gear to collect floating garbage with the other hand. According to local residents, the old man is called Zhang Xinlong and lives in Huangli Village of Huangli Town. He is 69 years old this year and has voluntarily collected floating garbage on the rivers for more than 15 years, working over nine hours a day for 365 days a year, including the first day of the Chinese New Year.
