Three-day break for Dragon Boat Festival

Yesterday, the General Office of Beijing Municipal People´s Government issued the holiday notice for the 2009 Dragon Boat Festival. There will be a three-day holiday for the Dragon Boat Festival starting from May 28 (Thursday, the Dragon Boat Festival). May 31 (Sunday) will be the first workday after the holiday.

The notice specifies that the 2009 Dragon Boat Festival is a three-day holiday, of which, Thursday May 28, the day of Dragon Boat Festival is an official holiday. Since Saturday, usually a weekend holiday, is only one day away, the Sunday weekend holiday, May 31, will be transferred to Friday, May 29. This way, there will be three consecutive days from May 28 to May 30 as holiday. Sunday, May 31 will be a work day.

Similar to the Labor Day long weekend, all organizations and work units are permitted to make flexible arrangements according to their production and working requirements and personal preferences of their employees.
