Chinese Government Scholarship to Tanzania

According to the Implementation Program under the Cultural Agreement between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese side offers Government Full Scholarships to Tanzania each year. Meanwhile, the Chinese Government also offers unilateral scholarships to Tanzania as a follow-up of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship schemes to sponsor Tanzanian students and scholars to undertake studies and research in Chinese institutions of higher education, to further strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and Tanzanian people, and to further develop cooperation and exchange in fields of education, science, culture, economy and trade between China and Tanzania.

The application season for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program is before April each year. Details on the application procedures should be consulted directly to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Tanzania.

In 2009, fifty-five Tanzanian have been awarded Chinese Government Scholarships for the academic year of 2009/2010, among them, nine persons for Doctoral studies, thirty-two persons for Master studies, ten persons for Undergraduate studies, and four Scholars.
