Many students are taking advantage of new government policies by heading to the countryside to work.

Compared to his colleagues in the village, Su Yunjia is younger and less experienced. But no one will deny his sincerity.

Shu was employed as Village Head Assistant last year. His main job is to organize distance education for this and several neighboring villages.

Shu cooperates well with the villagers who are eager to improve themselves.

Zhang Zhongqiong, Head of Longquan village of Sichuan said: "This is a pretty good young man. He is the very first one in our management with a university degree. He has brought us lots of new things, new technology, and new concepts. And we are happy he is trying to suit himself to the life here."

Shu Yunjia earns a monthly salary of one thousand yuan. Much of his job involves walking around the village. When visited by his superiors Shu takes them with him to the farmers.

Cai Yuangui, villager said: "Sometimes I don't understand what he says. Young people always talk about fashionable things. My children are doing well with him. "

Shu says he enjoys his job. He says he's gaining valuable life experience that his fellow students don't have. He hopes this will stand him in good stead if he wants to find other job. But for now, Shu is happy where he is.

Shu said: "The government encourages university students to work in the countryside. This is a very special exercise for us. I can be sure that I will stay for a few more years. But in the future anything can happen."

The government policy is aimed at both easing the tensions on student unemployment, and benefiting rural areas alike.
