Highlight of the Whole
    Before Japan bombed Pearl Harbour and prompted America to join World War 2, China was already involved in a bloody resistance to Japanese expansion. The invaders were bogged down by protracted battles in China.
    During World War Two, China and America were both fighting a common enemy. Long before the bombing of Pearl Harbour, Japan had begun its invasion of China, beginning in the Northeast.
    During the Second World War, the American military had contact with both the Chinese Nationalist and Communist Parties. The American Observer Group stationed in Yan鈥檃n was the American government鈥檚 only link to the Chinese Communist Party.
