Han Bin has been producer of CCTV International reporting team since 1999. He is in charge of shaping and building the channel鈥檚 overall reporting direction, and has primary editorial and newsgathering responsibility for newscast coverage. His efforts over the years have helped put the reporting team at the forefront of China鈥檚 media reform.

Han Bin is one of CCTV International鈥檚 most senior news correspondents. Since 1997, he has been covering a wide range of political and social stories, including Hong Kong鈥檚 return to the mainland, China鈥檚 devastating floods in 1998, and China鈥檚 leadership change in 2002. He has been to Tibet and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region several times to cover the changes in western China.

Han Bin was one of the first Chinese journalists to report the country鈥檚 real AIDS problem, which had received little coverage by the domestic media. His stories helped urge the government to take tougher measures to control the spread of the disease, as well as show China鈥檚 AIDS situation to western viewers.

Han Bin often draws on his extensive military experience. He has done in-depth-reports on many military issues, including international disarmament, the streamlining of the PLA, and China鈥檚 joint-military exercises with other nations. During the Gulf War, he provided commentary with a Chinese perspective each day, giving western viewers an alternative analysis.

Han Bin鈥檚 work has won six National Rainbow Awards, one National News Award, and one National Culture News Award.

Before joining CCTV, he anchored the music programs for Beijing Music and Arts Radio.

Han Bin graduated from the PLA University of International Relations, where he earned a BA in English and politics.
