Goubuli means the infant of a restaurateur; while Baozi means steamed stuffed bun. Goubuli Baozi has had more than 150 years of history. It is not an exaggeration to say that Goubuli Baozi is a food calling card of Tianjin. Now its chain restaurants can be found in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and other cities in China as well as cities in America, Japan and Korea.

It would be a pity for tourists if missing "Goubuli Steamed Stuffed Bun". The steamed stuffed bun looks like a chrysanthemum in bud. With a bite, you can feel its stuffing, delicious but not greasy. Its special flavor depends on the material selection, ingredients, mixing, kneading and rolling. The pleats are especially shapely, not less than 18 in each.

The restaurant was named "Deju Business House" with over 100 years' history. The owner was Gao Guiyou, whose nickname was Gouzi (doggie). His restaurant was so popular that he didn’t have time to chat with those customers. People made fun of him "when Gouzi sells the steamed stuffed bun, he raps to nobody". Years later, his restaurant became more popular while his real name was forgotten.

Goubuli Steamed Stuffed Bun was favored by Empress Cixi, which is now welcomed by the populace and tourists all over the world. It has been exported to a lot of foreign countires.
