The pavilion will showcase a vigorous and beautiful urban life. It will be funded by private companies and will illustrate their visions for the future. Covering 6,000 square meters on the Puxi side of the Expo site, it is expected to be financed by more than 10 private companies.

Huang Jianzhi, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, today signed a pavilion-building contract with Guo Guangchang, the Chairman of Fosun Group, China's largest private-owned conglomerate with a diverse range of businesses including pharmaceuticals and property development. Fosun will coordinate the funding and construction of the pavilion.

The pavilion will use cutting-edge technology to give visitors a spectacular interactive experience encompassing the energy and spirit of Chinese private companies, their creativity and lifestyle.

Guo said negotiations on the construction are going smoothly with leading Chinese private companies in a variety of industries including computers, internet, TV, and electronics.

Guo announced the pavilion's motto - "Do the Action!" Construction will start on June 26.
