Mao Jingquan, a senior organizer of the Shanghai Public Relations Association, said contestants should be well behaved, creative, flexible and quick to reply.
A good educational background, capability in management and promotions as well as a knowledge of Chinese history and culture and world expositions are also required, he noted.
Unlike two similar events previously, the competition this year is more Expo-oriented and will cover the Chinese mainland as well as China's Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
The competition will involve four stages and conclude on October 1. The final contest will be broadcast live and online voting and expert assessments will be involved.
PR stars will provide quality services for the 2010 Expo.
