The President of South Korea's largest business group Hyundai Chung Mong-hun has reportedly killed himself. He reportedly committed suicide early on Monday morning by jumping from his 12th floor office in central Seoul.

The reason for Chung's apparent suicide was not known, but he had been on trial for alleged involvement in a secret money transfer to the DPRK just before the historic inter-Korean summit in 2000.

Earlier this year, former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung admitted that some of his government officials had helped the Hyundai Group to transmit 200 million US dollars to Pyongyang.

According to a local news channel, two letters of Chung were found, one for his wife, another for Hyundai's Asan's president. In the letters, he expressed his wish to bury his body in Geumgang Mountain, the only DPRK resort open to ordinary South Korean tourists.
