Vice Premier Wu Yi says that in spite of China's success in the battle against SARS, the nation must continue scientific control and prevention of the disease, and at the same time strengthen supervision work.
At a national SARS work meeting on Wednesday in Beijing, Wu Yi said the WHO's lifting of the travel advisory against Beijing and its removal of Beijing from the list of SARS affected areas, was recognition of China's successful tackling of the disease. But she added, SARS prevention and control must continue and be strengthened, particularly this winter and next spring, to avoid a return of the epidemic.
The meeting also decided to send 15 inspection teams around China to supervise the ongoing prevention and control of SARS.
