From all points of the compass, the people of China are using their unique characteristics to celebrate the opening of the 16th Party Congress.
The celebrations of the opening of 16th National Congress of Chinese Communist Party have spread all over the country. From the mountains, plateaus and coasts, to the cities, towns and rural villages,the people's happiness is one. Dance, song, and various folk artistic activities have been staged as the nation celebrates.
In Yan'an, the old Chinese revolutionary base in Shaanxi province, farmers performed their famous drum dance. And in Xiangfan, central China's Hubei province, 16 newly designed song and dance programmes have been shown to a local audience. And in the hometown of kite－flying －－ Weifang in east China's Shandong province － citizens spontaneously gathered in the town square to fill the sky with their kites. Lu Kaiguo, a dedicated kite flyer, led his family in making a huge kite with the Party Emblem on it. He said, "It took an entire night for all my family members to make the kite, with which we wish the Party Congress to open and end with success."
In Shanghai, a photographic show has opened displaying some 60 pictures showcasing the good wishes of the photographers for the Party. The organizers say it is a good display of the pleasant changes happening in China.
