Chinese people across the country have responded warmly to the report delivered by General Secretary Jiang Zemin at the opening session of the ongoing 16th CPC National Congress.

People from all walks of life are saying they're greatly encouraged by the report, which they see as a blueprint for China's future development.

The report is also seen as a call on them to work hard for the country's prosperity.

People are getting studious in Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital of North China's Hebei province.

These people want to know more of the "Three Represents" theory, developed by Jiang Zemin.

At this juncture, they think it proper to examine the arduous road China has traveled towards development and look forward to the nation's future glory.

It's no wonder that books explaining the “Three Represents” theory are so popular in local bookstores. Some bookstores even designed special shelves to display the books, which have caused a flurry of activity, attracting readers steadily throughout the day.

The opening of the Party Congress is good news for soldiers safeguarding the country's northwestern frontier in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

On hearing Jiang's report, they say they felt strongly connected with the country and its people.

And some citizens have even taken to singing and dancing to express their emotions.

People in Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong province took great delight in holding a chorus contest, to praise the leadership of the CPC. Some people even wrote their own lyrics and music to demonstrate their happy mood.

Wearing traditional costumes, people in the city of Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, took to the city's central avenue and danced to the rhythm of various drum beats.

With so many smiling faces beaming with delight, there is no mistaking the positive feel generated by the Party Congress.
