China has pledged to use all means to work for an early realization of peace in the Middle East. This was the message from Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong to visiting Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaath during their Friday meeting. Shaath briefed the Chinese vice president on the latest developments in the Middle East.
Zeng Qinghong said the Chinese government and people are greatly concerned about the Middle East situation and appreciate the efforts on the Palestinian side for the resumption of talks. He said it's crucial to settle Palestinian－Israeli disputes, and called on both sides to seize the opportunity and cooperate with the international community for peace.
Zeng Qinghong said China has always supported the just cause of the Palestinians, noting China was one of the earliest countries to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine.
