   CCTV.COM   2003-08-06 09:08:06
49 delegates from Taiwan-based travel agents have arrived in Guilin in southeast China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for an investigation tour. They are expected to discuss how to promote tourism between the two regions.

The delegation will cover typical routes in the city in order to market its rich tourist resources to Taiwan people. The delegation will also talk with local travel agents on how to encourage the flow of more mainland tourists to Taiwan.

Guangxi is the only one of China's autonomous regions that has both an international border and a sea coast.

In recent years, the number of Taiwan tourists visiting Guilin has been rising steadily. Last year, for instance, nearly 450 thousand Taiwan compatriots paid a visit to the city.
