The Hong Kong SAR's unemployment rate has been stagnating at a relatively high level due to the weak economic performance in the region. Some recent local college graduates have been finding it harder to find jobs.

Joining hands with local universities and colleges, the SAR government has been carrying out various measures aimed at helping graduates to find employment opportunities. The SAR government has recently set up a 26 million Hong Kong dollar, or 3.1-million-US-dollar fund to help young graduates gain necessary training from their employers. The career guidance departments of local universities and colleges have also been implementing various measures to provide employment opportunities, as well as information and training programs for graduates.

Official sources say the SAR government has already spent more than 1.1 billion Hong Kong dollars, or around 14 million US dollars to fund the region's employment information and training since May.
