Bad weather hampers Real's first training session

Though the rain did not stop all day, Real Madrid 's first two-session-a-day training program started on time in Kunming, in southwestern China's Yunnan Province on Sunday. But the last-minute change of training fields led to some unpleasantness between the team and their fans.

At 10 o'clock, Real Madrid started training on the No.5 soccer field. However, Real's fans and journalists had been waiting for hours at the No.4 soccer field just next to the No.5 field from 9 o'clock. That's because, apart from a few accompanying Spanish reporters, they were not informed about the change of venue in time.

It was not until 11 o'clock that the fans were able to watch their heroes. Real Madrid had announced their schedule before arrival in Kunming.

A great number of reporters also attended the press conference given by Real Madrid's coach Carlos Queiroz at noon. He explained that because of the rain, the condition of the No.4 field was so poor that they had to change the field temporarily.

Officials from the Chinese organizing committee also announced that the weather in Kunming was expected to improve over the next two days.
