A cross－ministerial committee for the construction of China's science and technology infrastructure platform has been launched in Beijing to help the development of an innovative system making full use of existing resources.
Under the plan, China will develop a number of internationally influential and competitive large－scale science and technology bases, build nearly 100 state science and technology data centers and several hundred state science and technology samples banks, and establish large information and data banks on scientific reports, achievements, and patents.
Members of the committee come from the Ministry of Science and Technology and 16 ministries and units under the State Council.
