U.N. General Secretary Starts Three-Day Visit to Germany
THU, FEB 28, 2002
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan arrived in Berlin Wednesday at the start of his three-day visit to Germany.

Shortly after his arrival, Annan and German President Johannes Rau attended the ceremony for signing an agreement between Germany and U.N. to build Bonn as a working place for the world organization.

The accord regulates, among other things, the building and management of a congress center in the former German capital.

On Thursday, Annan will address the Bundestag (lower chamber of Germany's parliament) before meeting German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
