U.S. Warns Citizens Against Traveling to Liberia
WED, FEB 27, 2002
The United States on Tuesday warned its citizens against traveling to Liberia due to deterioration of the security situation in the West African country.

The security situation in Liberia had grown worse in recent weeks with an increase in fighting north of the capital in Bomi County and the government declared a state of emergency on February 8.

"These events represent a further deterioration in the security situation in Liberia," the State Department said in a statement.
